PAPER STAND-UP POUCH | WAYFARER BIO-COATED PAPER

PAPER PACKAGING. ENGINEERED TO PERFORM.

WAYFARER is our New Zealand-made, bio-coated paper packaging, developed as an alternative to conventional multi-layer soft plastic.

Made from fibre with our functional bio-barrier coating technology, WAYFARER is designed to provide the gas and moisture barrier required to help protect products, maintain shelf life and reduce product waste, while providing a fibre-based end-of-life pathway.

Unlike conventional flexible pouches made from layers of fossil-based plastics bonded together, the WAYFARER Pouch is designed to be mechanically recyclable through the paper waste stream to CEPI recyclability standards, as well as home and commercially compostable.

FROM SOFT PLASTIC TO FIBRE

Replacing plastic isn't simply about changing the material. The packaging still needs to perform.

Our WAYFARER technology allows the barrier coating, paper specification, pouch size and construction to be engineered around the product being packed, helping brands transition from soft plastic while maintaining the functionality their supply chain requires.

Suitable for dry consumer goods, food, horticulture, ingredients, refill applications and larger-format transport packaging.

Shelf life testing is essential when moving to alternative materials, allow 3- 6 months for technical trials and development time.

CUSTOM ENGINEERED FOR YOUR PRODUCT

Different products need different packaging.

At volumes from 5,000 units, we can customise WAYFARER to suit your product and performance requirements, including:

  • Barrier performance

  • Paper grade and thickness

  • Pouch dimensions

  • Stand-up or three-side-seal construction

  • Printing and branding

  • Custom packaging formats

This allows us to develop the packaging around the product, required shelf life, supply chain and intended end-of-life, rather than taking a one-material-fits-all approach.

DESIGNED FOR WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

WAYFARER has been developed around both performance in use and recovery after use. Shelf life testing is essential.

The barrier-coated fibre is designed for mechanical recycling within the paper waste stream in accordance with CEPI recyclability protocols, while also providing home and commercial composting pathways.

Protect the product. Replace soft plastic. Keep fibre in circulation.
