Misty Lady + Dusty Thunder are our New Zealand-made AS5810 home-compostable vacuum seal bags in 2 different sizes, designed to combine high-performance food preservation with a fundamentally different end-of-life.
Our latest generation vac bag has been significantly re-engineered with a new high-performance laminate structure and improved sealed-edge construction, creating stronger, more durable bags and enabling applications that weren't possible with our original product.

Food Waste + Plastic Waste
Vacuum sealing helps food last longer by removing air from around the product, helping protect quality and reduce oxidation, freezer burn and unnecessary food waste.
But conventional vacuum bags are generally made from multiple layers of fossil-based plastic engineered to withstand demanding preservation and storage conditions.
Misty Lady + Dusty Thunder approach both problems together.

The complete finished and printed vacuum seal bag has achieved independent AS5810 Home Compostable certification.
At the end of its useful life, the bag is designed for organic recycling under home-composting conditions, where it can be broken down by microorganisms.
