MISTY. RETHINKING THE SACHET
Reimagining the Soy Sauce Sachet with our Misty Lady Certified AS5810 Home Compostable Film
Small sachet. Big opportunity.

Soy sauce sachets are convenient, lightweight and used in huge volumes across takeaway, foodservice and hospitality. Traditionally made from flexible plastic, their small size and food contamination can make them particularly challenging to recover through conventional recycling.
So we are reimagining the material.
Salty's certified AS5810 home compostable film provides an opportunity for organisations to use our alternative to conventional soft plastic for single-serve sachet applications such as soy sauce and condiments to be trialled across industry. Over the last year we engineered our Misty Lady film to be stronger and more durable, the result is a film that is now suitable for use as a sachet.

WHY SACHETS MATTER
One sachet doesn't contain much plastic. Millions of them do.
Small flexible packaging formats can be difficult to mechanically recycle because of their size, construction and food residue. Designing them for an alternative end-of-life pathway creates an opportunity to rethink a format traditionally dependent on fossil-based plastic.
Under ambeint home-composting conditions, our certified material is designed to be digested by microorganisms and organically recycled into biomass, CO₂ and water.
SMALL PACKAGING. BIG RETHINK.
Innovation isn't always about creating an entirely new packaging format. Sometimes it's about taking something used every day and trialing new alternative materials and formats with an realistic expectation of shelf life.
New materials and formats always need independent testing and technical trials.
A familiar format. A certified home compostable material. An opportunity to use a renewable replacement to conventional soft plastic.
