Certified AS 5810 Home Compostable, Worm & Soil Safe

Unlike conventional PE and LLDPE polyliners, Salty's biobased liner provides an organically recyclable end-of-life pathway.

The material is certified AS 5810 Home Compostable, worm and soil safe, and made without added PFAS.

AS 5810 certification requires materials to meet criteria for biodegradation, disintegration and ecotoxicity under home composting conditions. This means the certification goes beyond simply demonstrating that a material breaks apart — it considers its ability to biodegrade and its impact on the compost environment.

At the end of its useful life, the material is designed to be safely digested by soil microorganisms and organically recycled into biomass, CO₂ and water.

This independently verified performance can also provide valuable confidence to organisations and organic-waste operators assessing whether compostable packaging is appropriate for their systems. Acceptance by individual commercial composting facilities remains dependent on their own processes and acceptance criteria.
