Mia Belle | Refillable Skincare

Mia Belle | Refillable Skincare

The beauty industry is responsible for 120 billion single use plastic units per year, but Mia Belle are changing that with their natural, handmade skincare.

Mia Belle began when Catherine Sanvictores discovered her eldest son had severe allergies to many skincare and cleaning products. With a background in formulations chemistry for personal care products, Catherine started making her own cleaning products to use at home when she couldn't find anything suitable for her son.
This passion blossomed and Catherine started making skincare and haircare, and Mia Belle was born.

While the beauty industry is notorious for excess packaging and waste, Catherine is creating change.

Mia Belle offer eco-friendly options by reducing their use of single use plastic as much as possible. A few of their sustainable packaging initiatives include using glass, aluminium containers and bottles, using packaging from recycled paper, biodegradable cornstarch pellets and avoiding bubble wrap.

One problem they needed to solve was home compostable packing for their refillable skincare sachets. After plenty of research, they found the answer in our home compostable heat seal bags.

Using Salt of the Earth Packaging heat sealable bags aligned perfectly with Mia Belle. They pride themselves on caring for their customers, for the environment, and on using the purest and most natural organic products where possible from reputable suppliers in New Zealand and world-wide. As the heat sealable bags are made in New Zealand, it was a perfect fit for their brand and product.
